The Universal Road Trip Rolls to the 2013 Arnold Fitness Expo |
March 7, 2013- Universal, a leading bodybuilding brand founded in 1977, announces the great success of the second-ever Universal Road Trip.
This Road Trip to the Arnold Expo follows on the heels of the first Universal Road Trip this past September from Southern California to the 2012 Olympia in Las Vegas.
The trip was officially kicked off with our second-ever Universal Bodybuilding Camp (UBC). The UBC was held on Sunday, February 24th at Fit Gym in Philadelphia, PA. After that highly educational and motivational event, attended by over eighty Universal fans and staffed by twelve of our sponsored athletes, the Road Trip got underway.
Two Universal staff members, Eric naturalguy Schwartz and Travis T Dirty Poulsen, along with two sponsored athletes, IFBB Pro Antoine Vaillant and NPC bodybuilder Josh Halladay, who both represent the Universal brand of products, followed up the UBC with a tour of Philadelphia, consisting of a run up the Rocky steps in homage to the cinematic great and a bite to eat at the famous cheesesteak joint Pat's King of Steaks. The following day, the crew made a visit to the historical and informative York Barbell Hall of Fame in York, PA before heading out to Pittsburgh, PA, where they stopped at the famous Primanti Brothers for lunch with fans and toured the city. That Monday night, the Universal Road Trip made a special appearance at the Pittsburgh Animal Barbell Club (ABC event) held at The Exercise Warehouse.
The Road Trip stuck around Pittsburgh on Tuesday morning to visit Supplement Central and check out the Highmark SportsWorks® at the Carnegie Science Center before getting on the road again to Wheeling, WV, home of Animal sponsored athlete Erik The House Fankhouser, who would be joining the Road Trip for the remainder of their trip. Upon arriving in Wheeling on Tuesday afternoon, the Universal Road Trip crew was greeted by the Fankhouser family and invited in for a meal and a little downtime before leaving again for Akron, OH. Once in Akron, the guys made another special appearance at the Akron ABC held at The Body Builders Inc. After the ABC, the Universal Road Trip made its way to Columbus, OH for the Arnold Sports Festival.
But, the Road Trip didn't end once the crew arrived in Columbus. Instead, they checked out the finer sites surrounding the Greater Columbus Convention Center, home of the Arnold Fitness EXPO, including the Veteran's Memorial and Arnold sculpture, Thurman's and Ohio Deli, and EliteFTS. And, of course, the Universal crew also swung by The Cage and the expo to show support for their 'brother brand', Animal.
The entire trip was documented via social media on the UniversalUSA.com forum and on Instagram, allowing Universal fans to follow along throughout the entire trip. Video footage of the Road Trip will also be added to the official UniversalUSA YouTube page.

The 2013 Universal Bodybuilding Camp |
March 7, 2013- Universal, a leading bodybuilding brand founded in 1977, announces the great success of the second-ever Universal Bodybuilding Camp (UBC).
The Universal Bodybuilding Camp is a chance for the Universal brand to give back to the bodybuilding community by educating individuals and spreading knowledge about the benefits of weight training. Our larger goal is to help those who attend a UBC get one step closer to reaching their individual goals through the hands-on training and guidance of our athletes and mentors. The UBC also fosters the positivity, encouragement and motivation that comes from spending the day with the Universal family and building a community together.
On Sunday, February 24th, Universal held the second-ever Universal Bodybuilding Camp at Fit Gym in Philadelphia, PA. Twelve of our sponsored athletes and mentors, including IFBB Pros Evan Centopani, Vinny Galanti and Antoine Vaillant, top NPC competitors Josh Halladay, Josh Landry, Christian Coronato and Al Fortney, powerlifting coach and competitor Henri Skiba and bodybuilding guru Greg Long, acted as instructors at six separate training stations. Each UBC attendee received guidance and tips from our experts at each of the six stations - legs, back, chest, shoulders, arms and abs. The camp concluded with a Q&A session, at which all the sponsored athletes in attendance fielded questions from the camp attendees.
In addition, all those who attended the UBC were given commemorative t-shirts to mark their participation. Proceeds from the UBC entry fee went to a noteworthy charity, the Boys & Girls Club of Philadelphia.

| Universal Rides into Olympia |
October 12, 2012- Universal Nutrition, a leading sports nutrition and bodybuilding supplement manufacturer, announces the success of both the first-ever Universal Road Trip and the first Universal themed tradeshow booth, featured at the Mr. Olympia Expo, held in Las Vegas, NV from September 28-29. In the days leading up to the expo, two Universal staff members, Eric naturalguy Schwartz and Christian C.Coronato Coronato, along with two sponsored athletes, Antoine Vaillant and Brad Rowe, who both represent the Universal brand of products, attempted to drive through Southern California and into Vegas in an authentic 1977 Volkswagen Van. The van was later parked in the center of the booth for the duration of the expo, and consumers were invited to take free Universal swag from the back of it.
The Universal Road Trip started on Sunday, September 23 when the team crashed Brad's Los Angeles, CA apartment. After partying all night, facing some issues with the van, and being forced to switch cars, they started their venture in the southern California area on Monday morning. They spent the next two days driving around, stopping only to eat, train, and hand out free Universal swag at several stores along the way. On Tuesday night, they camped out at Barstow. They woke up bright and early on Wednesday morning to make the final trek into Vegas. The entire trip was documented via social media on the UniversalUSA.com forum and on Instragram, allowing Universal fans to follow along throughout the entire trip.
The Road Trip didn't end in Barstow. Both the van and the guys managed to make their way to Vegas for the Mr. Olympia Expo. The van was parked in the middle of the booth, symbolizing the 1970s era, which is when Universal was born. It was the central piece of the Backyard BBQ theme, which consisted of a booth decked out with green turf, picnic tables, free hot dogs, and tents. Additionally, Universal was giving out free swag all weekend, including over 2000 shaker cups that were handed out by fan favorite Universal athlete Antoine Vaillant. Universal also gave out over 5,000 rubber bracelets, 2,000 buttons, 2,000 key chains, and roughly 9,000 products samples. The booth also featured a shop, a custom t-shirt maker, and free samples of Universal's newest amino acid supplement Atomic 7.
